Your tax-deductible Sponsorship-fee of $2,000 in the summer and $2,500 in the winter:
Gives your company the choice of a partial or full day of volunteering. A typical day starts at 9:30 a.m. with an orientation. Then your team will participate in “hands-on” meal preparation of a meal that they will personally serve to our guests. The day ends around 1:30 p.m. with clean up of the dining room and kitchen unless you elect to stay for a full day and help with a work activity.
Provides all the food necessary to serve a balanced meal for up to 300 homeless, working poor, disabled and elderly guests. (Includes soup, entrée, salad/vegetable, bread, fresh fruit, dessert, beverages and all the ingredients for each guest to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to take home.)
Entitles your company to a listing on our website and in our quarterly newsletter which is mailed to over 5,000 residents and businesses in NJ, thanking you for Sponsoring the Day.
In addition to serving at the Soup Kitchen, there are many ways you and your fellow employees can help our guests by:
Holding a drive for canned food or toiletries
Holding a seasonal food drive for Thanksgiving and the Holidays*
Making bagged meals for our guests to take away for another meal for themselves or other family members (e.g., a nice meat sandwich piece of fruit, healthy snack, drink, bagel, small boxes of cereal... Drop-offs are generally M-F between 9-11am. Please contact the office to arrange a date and time
Running a ‘Coins for a Cause’ drive by placing containers by the coffee station or lunch area.
Having a team participate in the Fall Hunger Walk.
Helping educate fellow employees by placing Soup Kitchen literature around the Office.
Participating in our Fall Job Fair.
Partnering with the Foodservice supplier in your cafeteria to supply casseroles and desserts
Providing much needed financial support by purchasing an item off our ‘wish list’, helping us secure a grant, or purchasing a journal ad to support our Spring “Share the Bounty” banquet.
Providing ‘in-kind’ services such as printing, technical and other skill areas support.
Donating paper goods (this is a major expense area for us.)
