Congregations

While we have a very active and dedicated group of member Congregations that have enabled us to serve every day since 1984, we always welcome new Congregations to join our efforts in caring, connecting and changing lives.

Become a Member Congregation

Join our other member congregations  by participating in a regular serving schedule.  This entails a commitment to come to our kitchen and supply, prepare, cook , serve and clean up a meal once every 4 – 6 weeks. In addition, member congregations are expected to have a representative attend regular board meetings and support the fundraising efforts of the Community Soup Kitchen & Outreach Center.

Other Ways for Congregations to Help

Even if your congregation is not a member of the Community Soup Kitchen & Outreach Center, you can still help the hungry and homeless in our area by:

  • Holding a drive for canned food or toiletries
  • Having volunteers make desserts or casseroles to bring the Soup Kitchen*
  • Making bagged meals for our guests to take away for another meal for themselves or other family members (e.g.,  a nice meat sandwich piece of fruit, healthy snack, drink, ..  bagel,  small boxes of cereal.*
Please call in advance to arrange a drop-off - best times are generally M-F between 9-11 am
  • Participating  in the Fall Hunger Walk….great for youth groups!
  • Checking our website regularly for even more ideas and updates on how other congregations are helping!
